Compact Lifting Power for Confined Spaces
Our fleet includes the Maeda MC285C-3 known for their small size, flexibility, and lifting capacity.
What are Spider Cranes?
A Spider Crane is a compact, mobile crane designed for lifting operations in confined and hard-to-reach spaces. Named for their unique, spider-like legs (outriggers) that provide stability on uneven terrain, these cranes are ideal for indoor and restricted-access sites.

How Do Spider Cranes Work?
Spider Cranes use hydraulic systems to extend their telescopic boom and lift loads. Their four stabilizing legs (outriggers) adjust independently, allowing the crane to operate on uneven ground. They are controlled via onboard controls or remote operation, offering precision in tight spaces.
Construction Sites
Lifting steel beams, glass panels, and materials in tight spaces.
Glass Installation
Precise placement of large glass panels in high-rise buildings.
Roofing & Cladding
Installing roofing materials where traditional cranes can't access.
Factories & Warehouses
Moving heavy equipment in enclosed environments.
Monument & Statue Maintenance
Safely lifting and positioning historical artifacts.
Shipbuilding & Repair
Working in confined dock areas or inside large vessels.
FAQ about Spider Cranes
How Much Can a Spider Crane Lift?
The lifting capacity varies by model, but for example, the MC285C-3 Spider Crane can lift up to 2.82 tons (2,820 kg) at 1.4m radius. The capacity decreases as the boom extends, but the crane can still handle substantial loads even at height.
What Size of Entrances Can They Fit Through?
One of the biggest advantages of Spider Cranes is their compact size. The MC285C-3 model can pass through a doorway as small as 750mm wide and 2,000mm high, making it perfect for indoor and confined-area lifting.
Who Can Operate a Spider Crane?
Only trained and qualified operators should use a Spider Crane. Operators must undergo proper certification and training to ensure safe handling, as lifting operations require precise calculations, load balancing, and knowledge of safety protocols.
