The Role

We are seeking a proactive and organised Health & Safety Officer to support the continued development and implementation of health, safety and compliance standards throughout the company.

The successful candidate will work closely with management, crane operators, lift planners, appointed persons and site personnel to promote a positive safety culture and ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, industry standards and company procedures.

Core Duties

* Compliance & Audits: Ensure strict adherence to Irish H&S legislation through regular site inspections across active projects.

* Risk Management: Prepare and review RAMS, and oversee safety compliance for crane lift plans.

* Incident Response: Investigate accidents and near misses to identify root causes and enforce corrective actions.

* Culture & Training: Deliver site inductions, toolbox talks, and champion safety improvement initiatives.

* Site Oversight: Monitor subcontractor compliance, PPE usage, and lifting equipment logs.

* Administration: Manage ISO/H&S documentation, training records, and liaise with clients and regulatory bodies.

Key Requirements

* Qualification in Occupational Health & Safety or a related discipline.

* Knowledge of Irish health and safety legislation.

* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

* Excellent written and verbal English.

* Good organisational and administrative skills.

* Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

* Ability to work independently and use initiative.

Desirable Experience & Qualifications

Candidates with some or all of the following will have an advantage:

* Experience within construction, civil engineering, crane hire, logistics or lifting operations.

* NEBOSH Certificate, IOSH qualification or equivalent.

* Experience preparing or reviewing RAMS.

* Knowledge of crane operations, lifting plans and associated safety requirements.

* Familiarity with ISO 45001 management systems.

* Safe Pass and CSCS/SOLAS safety training certifications.
